GENESIS Issues Formal Clarification Regarding Liquidation of Aon Energy Caribbean Limited

GENESIS Insurance Brokers & Benefits Consultants Ltd (“GENESIS”) has taken note of the recent public notice of the liquidation of Aon Energy Caribbean Limited (“AEC”).

GENESIS clarifies that it is a separate, independently incorporated and independently operated insurance brokerage, duly licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago under the Insurance Act, 2018.

In 2020, GENESIS acquired only AEC's client portfolio pursuant to a commercial transaction. GENESIS did not acquire the legal entity known as Aon Energy Caribbean Limited and did not assume ownership, management control, operational responsibility, or any legal and financial responsibilities of that entity.

AEC has not conducted business operations in Trinidad & Tobago since the 2020 portfolio transfer. The current liquidation relates solely to the formal winding up and deregistration of that legal entity in accordance with applicable governance requirements.

GENESIS has no involvement in and bears no responsibility for the liquidation process or any matters arising therefrom.

GENESIS remains financially sound and fully compliant with all regulatory requirements of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago and is actively engaged in serving major corporate and institutional clients across Trinidad & Tobago and the wider region. Our governance framework, capital position, operational capacity, and client service delivery remain unaffected.
