Effective July 1, more than 10,000 of Police Credit Union’s (PCU) members will benefit from a new alliance with Beacon Insurance Company which has resulted in an expansion and enhanced quality of the Credit Union’s insurance offerings.
PCU is now a member of a novel Pooled Group Health Insurance plan created for Credit Unions which was specially negotiated by GENESIS Insurance Brokers and Benefits Consultants Ltd.
In addition to delivering a combination of affordable group health and life insurance coverage with exceptional benefits to PCU’s diverse membership, the arrangement will also create a safety net for individuals who cannot access these benefits through their employer.
The comprehensive suite of benefits includes increased Major Medical coverage, Dental, Vision, Maternity, Emergency Air Ambulance, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, Dialysis, Acupuncture, AIDS, Psychologists, Physiotherapy etc. It also includes bonus Group Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage.
“We’ve listened to our members who have been asking for enhanced medical coverage and more comprehensive and personalised support services. Our partnership with GENESIS and Beacon will ensure members and their families have access to affordable insurance that provides protection from the unexpected,” said PCU President Auldric Neptune.
Noting that value for money and a customer-focused approach are key principles of PCU’s operations, Neptune said the relationship with GENESIS and Beacon is a great fit for the credit union. “Our members can now enjoy protection home and abroad and peace of mind whether they are transitioning to a new job, starting a business or moving into retirement,” he added.
Neptune further added“ a one-month Open Enrolment period for the plan will begin on September 1, 2021 which will be available for all new and existing members of PCU. This includes those members over age 45, who can join without having to undergo medical underwriting. The Open Enrolment will close on September 30, 2021.”
